The Best Countries to Visit If You Love Animals

If you are a big lover of all things animal-related, there are some countries that can offer the opportunity to see some weird and wonderful animals – and see them in their natural habitats. Here are some of the best countries to visit to get up close and personal with some amazing animals.

Borneo

If you want to see some of the world’s largest mammals, Borneo is the place to be. This is the third largest island in the world and is divided between Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei. Borneo is home to many large animals including Malaysian elephants and orangutans. Seeing them in their natural habitat is a rare and wonderful sight and there are many safari trips to see these animals. Borneo is home to many endangered animals and the WWF are doing all they can to protect these animals. Sumatra and Borneo are the only two places left on Earth where rhinos, tigers, elephants, and orangutans still live together.

Sea of Cortez

This sea by the Mexican mainland has the perfect nutrients to attract all kinds of marine life. The area is a World Heritage Site and attracts everything from sea turtles to whales. There are plenty of opportunities to get up close and personal with these wonderful creatures, from whale watching tours to jumping in a kayak and rowing out to see these magnificent creatures. Churchill

Churchill is along the shores of Hudson Bay and is a great place to go snorkeling with Beluga whales, a rare opportunity that shouldn’t be missed. There is plenty to see on land too, especially if you are a keen bird watcher. Churchill has a variety of dry and wetlands, housing over 250 species of birds, including the rare Ross’ Gull, a bird watchers dream. Polar bears also roam these lands and there are tours available to go and see the great white bears for real. Costa Rica

Costa Rica is known to many as an eco-destination and there are many parks in which to get close to some gorgeous animals. Corcovado National Park is the home to many protected animals, allowing them to live in their natural habitat whilst being protected from poachers and hunters. Whether you wish to have a guided tour or camp and discover the animals yourself, you can see four native species of monkey, and 100’s of butterfly and bird species. The coastline is also used by many sea turtles to lay and hatch their eggs in a safe environment.
