Stop Having So Many Meetings
If you cut down on the number of meetings you have you can save quite a bit of cash. Think about how much money you pay each person that attends your meetings. If you free up at least a few hours of time each week they’re likely to get a lot more work done.
If you really do need to have a meeting consider sending everyone the information ahead of time. This will give them the chance to review the information you’ve sent which will ultimately save time.
Review all of your Operating Expenses
Let’s imagine you buy all of your employees lunch every day and it costs you $250 a week. Now let’s imagine you find an alternative supplier who can offer you exactly the same but it’ll only cost you $205. It would make sense for you to save that $45 by using the alternative supplier.
Do this for all of your operating expenses. Think about where you can save money on office supplies and maintenance. Use free online tax tools to save the accounting department some cash. Look at every angle and see where you can save money, chances are you’ll find something.
Switch Computers off Overnight
Leaving a computer on overnight can cost a lot of money. If there is no reason for you to leave the computers on switch them off. You could reduce your energy bill by a few hundred dollars a year. Admittedly, you might have to come in a little earlier and turn the computers on in the morning but those few minutes could help you save a lot of money.
Buy Products in Bulk
Buy as many different things as you can in bulk. Office supplies, coffee, paper and telephones are usually so much cheaper if you buy them in bulk. Granted, you will need to find somewhere to store all of your items but if you have the room you could save money.
Make sure you shop around if you plan to buy in bulk as you could save even more money.
Cancel Subscription Services
Do you subscribe to a trade magazine when you could find the information online? Do you use an a content management system that costs you $30 a month, for example? Cancelling these subscription services can save you a lot of money over the course of a year.
As you can see, there are more than a few ways for you to save your business money. Just make sure that you look at every avenue so you’re not missing anything. Look at every department, every subscription you have and take a little time to save some much-needed money.
